We welcomed the W.I. for an evening of 'have a try at bowls' on Tuesday evening. Starting off the evening in the glorious sunshine with a practice roll up, with some coaching on techniques to help with the game. We moved on to a game of pairs and members chose their partner and rink, at this point some members became much more competitive and improvements were noticeable across all rinks. Maybe it was the rain!
After taking a break for tea, coffee and cakes. We moved on to competition of target bowls, everyone got involved with two members moving on to a play off. The Winner Alison was happy to take home her prize of some roses.
Thank you for coming to an evening with Balsham Bowls club everyone had a good evening and we hope to see some of you at the bowls green in the future
I want to say a big thank you to the Balsham Bowlers. yesterday evening they welcomed the Balsham W.I. to try bowling. The group of bowlers were so welcoming and encouraging to us telling us how we had improved our game. Not sure that was true for some of us! we was shown generous hospitality after our efforts - even the shower of very warm rain, was refreshing! Sheila W.I. Member.
