Buster Moore Cup was hosted by Haverhill Town BC.

Firstly I would like to thank everyone who participated on their patience with the running format for the day, we had planned on 24 teams but had to readjust the format because of a shortfall on numbers.

Secondly I have to thank the team at HTBC on hosting the day, the catering team, bar etc, for their hard work behind the scenes on making the day a massive success in terms of hospitality, raising a terrific amount of money for the charity of the day,

East Anglian Air Ambulance.

I also have to thank the sponsors, Peasgood and Skeates for their donation towards the day’s proceedings which in turn helped to swell the charity pot.

Lastly, events like these cannot take place without members from clubs being willing to turn out in, sun, hail, rain and probably not snow to make these days a success, and today was a resounding success in terms of money raised at Haverhill through entry fees, raffle, auction and spider.

If I could please ask if this could be printed and placed on club notice boards to primarily thank all those who took part in this event and also to raise awareness of events like these.

I’ll now get to the point of this email to let you know how much was raised on the day,

I was hoping it would be a worthwhile effort and was not disappointed.

£1,392 raised on the day.

Thank you all.

John Field,

On Sunday 14th August, Balsham Bowls Club entered two teams into the Buster Moore Trophy. Peter Day, David Appleby and Rob Walker Team A and Phil Elliott, Simon Till and Christine Till Team B. After an extremely hot enjoyable day Team A made it to the final against Cavendish which ended in a draw, the team had to play sudden death end and unfortunately for Balsham that went in favour of Cavendish. The team grew into the tournament after a shaky start against Balsham B, ending the round robin with two wins and a draw. playing the semi final against Quendon they nearly through it away, but triumphed to the final. well done lads!!
